Terms of Use
Terms of Use
Effective date: June 10, 2026 · Last updated: July 10, 2026
By using Pastport you agree to use the app as intended: to look at your own photos and trip history. These terms are short, plain-English, and don't try to trick you.
1. What Pastport is
Pastport is an iOS application, made by CreativStudio LLC, that reads photo metadata (date and location) from your device's photo library to build a visual timeline of your trips. The app is offered free, with no advertising and no in-app purchases in version 1.
2. Who can use Pastport
Pastport is offered to anyone aged 13 or older with a compatible iPhone running iOS 17 or later. You agree to use Pastport only with photos that you own or have the right to view.
3. Your content stays yours
You retain all rights to your photos and any content Pastport derives from them (trip cards, country lists, day-by-day timelines, shareable images). Pastport does not claim a license to your content. We do not upload, copy, or transmit your photos.
4. What you agree not to do
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the app, except where allowed by law.
- Use Pastport to process photos that are not yours and that you do not have the right to view.
- Use Pastport to harass, defame, or violate the privacy of any person.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or impair any third-party service Pastport connects to (such as Apple's reverse-geocoding and iCloud Photos hydration).
5. Acceptable use of the app
Pastport is designed for personal, non-commercial use to view and recall your own past trips. Commercial use of derived content (e.g. printing trip cards as part of a paid service) is allowed for occasional, personal-business use only. For broader commercial licensing, contact us.
6. Free service, no warranty
Pastport is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Photo metadata is not always present or accurate; Pastport's trip detection is best-effort and may miss or mis-group trips.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CreativStudio LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising out of your use of Pastport. The total cumulative liability for any claim arising out of these terms is limited to USD $50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, and nothing in these terms waives any non-waivable consumer rights.
8. Updates to the app
Pastport may issue updates that change features, fix bugs, or improve performance. You agree to receive updates through the App Store. If Pastport adds paid features in a future version, you will be asked to opt in. You will never be charged automatically.
9. Termination
You can stop using Pastport at any time by uninstalling the app. We may discontinue Pastport or any feature with reasonable notice, where practical, through an in-app message or the App Store listing.
10. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms materially, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where relevant, prompt you on the next app launch. Continued use of the app after a change indicates acceptance.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute that is not resolved through good-faith discussion will be heard in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco, California, except where local law requires otherwise (e.g. EU consumer-protection venues).
